Woah that animation looks roooooough and 10 frames per second.
The stuff they are TRYING to show actually seems interestingly choreographed and cool, but the execution seems lacking. There is no flow, and it still has that old hong-kong action movie “bad guys bumbling about randomly in the back” problem.
Well I couldn’t get all the way through it, but unless the second half is completely different then this is just … bad?
It’s just animation that’s pretending to be live action and combining the limitations of both media to produce something that is less than the sum of it’s parts.
The animation seems a little choppy/stiff at points. The choreography was bad; enemies just stand around waiting to be killed and a lot of moves, like the break dancing thing, look really goofy and ridiculous. And this is personal preference, but the whole slowly extending the handle of the blade thing just looks silly and impractical to the point of absurdity. Like, how is it at all practical to have to assemble a weapon in such a way?
I appreciate what they’re trying to do and I’m sure the show is good, but idk if I’d call this a great fight scene imo.
Cool scene, though I’m not really a fan of this animation style, but what is WAY worse are the dozens of comments saying, “OMG I LOVE THIS ANIME!!!” and not actually naming the anime for people who haven’t heard of it. All of you disappoint your parents more than they let on.
Loved this show. One of the best animations of the year along with Scavengers Reign and Pluto. And I’m sure Invincible will join it too. Kenneth Branagh killed it as Fowler. Can’t wait for season 2.
This show is great if you wanna watch something about samurai and sword fighting but are turned off by Japanese anime. It is very much a western production with western production values. I wouldn’t say the animation is the best part. The art direction is good but the animation is not super fluid, probably because of budget constraints. This seems pretty standard for smaller Netflix moonshots (see the Dragon Prince for an example). The show is a little more character heavy than Blood of Zeus and Castlevania which are more about combat and fighting. I liked it. Hopefully this helps someone.
For those noticing the choppy quality of this video, this is NOT the quality of the show’s animations. I cannot stress enough that this show’s art and choreography is terrific, incredible even. The art direction itself is amazing, actually every aspect of the show is really well done, from the writing to the voice acting to the art and animation. We bing ed this show and now are recommending it to friends.
This year? Not even remotely close. In comparison to Fog Hill of Five Elements S2, this looks like crayon stopmotion. Don’t get me wrong, I liked the show. But best fight scene? Nope.
This is not even the best fight scene in THIS show. The Shaolin temple beatdown, the duel afterwards and the fight against the four fangs are all so much more interesting and inventive.
The episode overall is fantastic, but it’s the storytelling that makes it great, not the fight.
Like the show but the fight scenes aren’t as good as I would have liked. I don’t even think this is the best one in the show. Maybe it’s an expectation thing though.
Bro… [John Wick 4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sURfMGFsY8A) came out this year. The nunchucks scene in that movie is the best action scene of the year because during the six months he trained on those things Keanu kept accidently knocking himself unconscious. That commitment deserves the title.
This whole show was incredible
Loved the show. Highly recommend it. Really want more!!

The Wilhelm Scream will haunt me until the day i die, i swear.
Other than that, cool clip!
this show was awesome, best of the year possibly
Meh. Why are all the bad guys just standing around instead of rushing her as a group?
Kinda sucked
The writers did an excellent job as well

Not sure what was so special here
Honestly that looked rough.

A surprising amount of people hating on this. Animation aside, the story is fantastic and worth checking out.
Abso-fucking-lutely!!!
Everyone stand still and wait your turn!
Incredible show! My wife and I loved every minute of it.

Everyone keeps saying how great the show is but not a single one of you has said the name of it lol. What’s the show called?
I’m not clicking the video so that way I don’t get any spoilers and can experience the fight scene in its full glory.
Pretty cool but JJK S2 has had tons of great fight scenes.
God, I would pay large amount of money for the animation in Invincible to look like this.
Why are people attacking other people that don’t like the animation? Each got their own it’s fine if someone doesn’t like the same thing you do Jesus
I personally really really enjoyed the show story/animation , not everyone has to love it not everything has to be a me vs you situation.

Hands down my fav show in a long time. I pray they make more awesome shows with fighting that well made.
>Best fight scene this year?
Definitely not.
Castlevania Nocturne isn’t mind-blowing but even that has a way cooler fight scene than this.
Ok, ok FINE!
I’ll watch it!
I dunno, looks kind of stupid with all the guys in the background waiting their turn.

I know it’s a me problem, but the animation is a real turn-off for me.
I couldn’t even finish the clip.

That was terrible

Sorry, but this looks whack. Reminds me of the disappointing cgi version of Berserk.. but worse.
the animation is pretty lackluster…how would this be anything close to fight scene of the year?
Idk man that jjk that dropped yesterday has to be up there.
Any 3D style that sticks to 10 FPS gets an instant pass from me.
