The actress Lois Kelly Miller was a very famous actress from Jamaica and helped Pitt be as authentic as possible (for a white guy from Oaklahoma) speaking this very specific and uncommon dialect. They became good friends. Her life story is amazing. She was on a trans atlantic ship that was sunk by a Nazi U-Boat and lived all the way to 102.
“So take that nice picture you got in your head home with you, but don’t be fooled. We lonely here mostly too. If we lucky, maybe, we got some nice pictures to take with us.”
That line stuck with me deeply. All we have is the nice pictures we take in life. And if we’re lucky, we have enough to make it all worth it.
Truly one of my favorite scenes in on of my favorite movies. Just incredible and the entire soundtrack is amazing. One of the few sound tracks cds I bought.
My favorite thing about Brad Pitt is that he always loved Boomhauer’s accent in King of the Hill and he could apparently do it very well. So he guest starred in an episode as Boomhauer’s brother lmao
I love that film. IMO Brad Pitt’s best performance was at the climactic scene when the music is swelling and Claire Forlani’s character has an inkling as to his true nature.
The way he’s gazing at her; a handsome man with a piercing, intense, pitiless mask of a face, sent shivers down my spine. And at the end of the scene when he says “Yes. I’m Joe” he relaxes just a little and he looks human again.
Brad Pitt was often compared to a young Robert Redford, who coincidentally also played a comforting Angel of Death, in an early episode of the Twilight Zone.
Meet Joe Black is my favorite Romance Movie. As well as one of my favorites of all time.

This film tells a good story.
*”Stewardess, I speak a little jive.*”
This makes me want to see this movie again. I remember the scene with the Bus was so brutal that it took me out of the movie.
His looks and mannerisms in this movie were just the right amount of “off” that it really sells *not human*.

Great movie.
Death and taxes

[Brad Pitt doing an Asian accent](https://youtu.be/q3EpBrlOCV0?si=Uf92BYmxCNvrRY5x&t=10). i think.
That fact that he used “duppy” instead of “ghost” makes this passable Jamaica patois.
This is such a long uneventful movie but I really like it. The acting is incredible. Anthony Hopkins is top notch

Great movie often forgotten.
This is very cool. Great performance and a bizarre, fascinating movie.
Claire Forlani was so beautiful in this film it’s almost distracting.
Amazing movie and I had the biggest crush ever on Claire 😍

That scene was mesmerising.
Always liked this movie. It just touched heartfelt places.
I love this fucking movie, it just hits a lot of romantic spots for me about women and life.
My parents, rest their souls, loved this movie. Now, as an adult, I can see why.

Brad Pitt should have won many more Oscars than he has. He always delivers.
In this part, Death seems to care a lot about people and understands how tough life can be. It’s pretty emotional and makes you feel something.
I can understand how so many people think Claire Forlani is strange-looking but those people are crazy. She’s gorgeous.
Has there ever been a more beautiful leading couple in a movie? I would pay money to spend 2 hours just looking at Claire Forlani’s eyes.
That really wasn’t bad. I came for some cringe, left a little impressed.
God, did I love Claire Forlani.
As a Caribbean native, this scene always brings me to tears.
