A true legend
Lost this man the same day my groomsmen and I embarked on an evening of debauchery after meeting to get fitted for tuxes. One of the good died young.
Funny, complicated & more human than most of us. RIP John, you left us far too soon ❤️
Since I was a kid I have used John Candy movies to make me feel better when I’m having an especially hard time..
Sam Kinison vibes
RIP to the Polka King of the Midwest!
❤️ love ya big guy ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Summer Rental and The Great Outdoors are two favorites, besides his popular movies.
That pic was from when he was doing Second City in Toronto and then Chicago.
My favourite story about John Candy is that while he was a door to door salesman his boss was less than impressed with his numbers but couldn’t figure out why because John was so charming. He decided to sit him down, have a talk and try to motivate him.
Manager: John, every Christmas I give everyone a cash gift based on their commissions throughout the year. It varies from person to person but it’s usually at least enough for a nice dinner for them and their wife.
John: That’s great! How much am I getting!?
Manager: about enough for a sandwich.
John: …….
John: …What kind of sandwich?
The guy had funny in his god damn bones.
Such a legend I have a pic of his in an ornament!
His son Chris is carrying on the family legacy and is very funny. He often does films with Rick Darge and can be found on Youtube.
Johnny Larue!
One of the greats! I always liked how his last name is Candy and he was born on Halloween…
Totally looks like the kind of guy I would have been friends with in college. We miss you, buddy.
The movie we deserved: “Like Father, Like son” starring John Candy and Chris Farley.
Biscayne
Worked an episode of SCTV.Toronto Canada, the same great guy in person as per his role plays.
Loved him the first time I saw him on SCTV.

Wow never seen him this young and thin. Great fuggin pic. 🍻
I’ve been watching SCTV on YouTube. We lost a good or great one when he passed.
I kinda feel like I’d recognize him from a baby photo.
Conan O’Brien had some good JC stories when he started at SNL

Bug… Gnat….
Rest in peace John candy
He is all of our uncles!

Tom Tuttle from Tacoma!
Looks like Davy Jones’s older brother.
“Why, I’ve been known to circumcise a gnat with this thing. Wait a minute… Bug…. Gnat… eh?” – Uncle Buck
UNCLE BUCK
The last scene of “Planes Trains and Automobiles” is enshrined in my soul.
