Nevil Maskelyne (1903). Maskelyne was a British magician and inventor, who in 1903 would publicly hack into Marconi’s radios to leave insulting messages to the public, making him perhaps the first troll to use mass communication.

Also became one of a select bunch of camafluers and tricksters in WW2 making booby traps etc. I believe they worked out of the British museum once all the treasures had been relocated to Wales and other places. I think it was this group that came up with the exploding snakes and turds for use in the far east. The turds or snakes being left on roads – Japanese drivers apparently liked to run over snakes and turds they saw on the road – and literally bang goes your tire.

Marconi made the claim that messages sent on his system were secure. Maskelyne couldn’t let that claim go unchallenged, LOL. Just to note; this was all in Morse code. Radio transmission of voice didn’t exist at that time.
