I did a similar layered gift for a friend but incorporated layers of wood, sheet metal, hot glue, two rolls of packaging tape and three rolls of duct tape. It took my friend three hours to open with power tools.
A few years ago my gf’s brother wrapped her gift like this using an entire box of aluminum foil and Saran Wrap. Their dad grounded him for wasting so much, particularly since he took it from the family kitchen. It was Christmas.
Yeah…after a couple layers it starts to actually suck…thus ruining the party/vibe. Don’t try so hard for likes next time and actually think of the person
Y’know, this is silly the first time, but I’ve had it happen to me like 3 times, and by that point, it gets really old.
*especially when your parent decides to throw expanding foam into the mix.*
To be fair, it was a funny type of pain in the ass, but by the time I was done, I was really just happy it was over.
My big bro made me chip and cut my way through 50 pounds of concrete with inlaid wire mesh surrounding a seemingly singular block of hardwood to get to my gift card one birthday.
My (now ex) girlfriend did this to me once. But when I got to the gift it was a baseball signed by the entire 1963 New York Yankees. Probably the best birthday gift ever, and totally worth the difficult unboxing.
This was always my grandpas go to gift. It always involved some scavenger hunts and clue poems to find all the boxes. And he’d put rocks and stuff in the big ones so it felt heavy. One year it came down to a key that we took out to the garage and open up the trunk of the car to reveal an electric keyboard. He loved that stuff.
I did this with a gift for my dad. Boxes upon boxes upon boxes until he reached a remote. When he saw it he thought it was a universal remote for the tv, dvd player etc. He was a good sport and was like oh thank you this is great with that slightly wtf tone in his voice. The 65 inch tv belonging to the remote was sitting in my car. A much needed replacement for his 15 year old tv.
I got my son a video game one year and did this, but the center box was empty. He didn’t notice that it was completely covered in tape and taped to the bottom of one of the first outside boxes
We do something like this most years. My favorite was the [Easy Button](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IvijW1MtMfM). The first press after all that drama was glorious.

He gave me my gift unwrapped.

I was really hoping the last item was a gift card for Uline so it continue the loop

I was worried it was going to be a puppy.
Level up with this one simple trick – box them to a key that is just a storage unit with more boxes until, the key to the next storage unit
Does he get to keep the storage boxes? Those suckers are like 12$ a pop.
Should have ended it with a bar of ivory soap.
My wife did something similar with a PS5
I’m putting my foot down, Janelle. We’re raising a nation of squibs.
-Lucky’s Dad
“This PS5 box is getting smaller and smaller.”
No joke this is how I proposed to my wife on Christmas Day.
Be sure to save the wrapping paper. -Grandma
Is this funny? I wouldn’t bother opening it. And probably wouldn’t be friends with the idiot anymore.
This should be in a cringe sub
I must be old now; I would do 2… maybe 3 boxes before just saying “nah I’m good” and handing it back.
I’ve done something like this before, but taped a gift card to like the 5th box in lids with more boxes still.
This is when I realize I’d be an annoying friend for not playing along
Don’t give Amazon any ideas!!!!
The present should be a gift card to the box store
You should’ve put a fake bottom in one of the boxes and then waited for him to open all of the other boxes before showing him
I’m always planned to propose like this but, start with a refrigerator box.

It was a blast. 10/10 would recommend.
Sorry, Mario, the present is in another box.
r/anticonsumption is gonna have a blast with this post, lol
So much waste.. kids in Africa could have eaten all that paper and cartboard 😔
Ooooh how nice…. extra wrapping paper, plastic and karton for the landfill 🙁

this genuinely looks annoying
I’m the kind of person that this would annoy me and I wouldn’t even want to gift anymore. Lol I think my friends and family know better.
I wanted the final gift to be a box cutter
That’s a cool pin!
Waiting for somebody to go the extra mile with one of these and sew the package in the person.
I can tell that you’ve put in a lot of effort! lol
I did this to someone once. We aren’t friends anymore but that’s unrelated
Was that a layer of zip ties? You are evil!

Upvote number 10k yay
