When this photo surfaced of MM having drinks , at a club with clothing designer William Travilla & a friend, she was censored by the studio, & they moved to fire him from the Gentleman Prefer Blondes film. Marilyn said, if he goes, she goes. He retained the job (1952).

This is what it looks like to be an ally
Damn, good for her.
She really was a truly lovely person.
Frank did the same for Sammy. “If he can’t come through the front door, neither will I”, or something to that effect. Humans being bros.
This is possibly my favorite picture of her.
That smile, that body language.
Censured?
She was ahead of her time, such a shame she went too soon.
Powerful. This is one of the tragedies of her dying before her time. Would have been fascinated to see her become a voice for the oppressed. Both in words and action.
The guy on the left looks famous…
MM was awesome! And I like the the gentleman on the left is giving the camera. He’ like, “Yes, I’m here, what you gonna do about it?”
She was such a class act. I like that she looks genuinely happy in this photo.
Babe
Yeah, wow… so handsome! Good for Marilyn. Standing up for what she believes in and for her friend.
Who is him? There are two guys in the photo.
She was such a model citizen. I appreciate how sincere her smile is in this picture.
“censored”? I think you mean “censured”.
We or at least many of us have come a long way but not far enough.
Their friend on the left is looking at the camera like he just knows the cameraman is looking for a scandalous photo…
Me reading the title without yet clicking the page:l wondering who MM is:
> Hmm… Mickey Mouse? Marilyn Manson? *Clicks page* Oh, it’s Marilyn Monroe
r/titlegore
why did white folks get triggered over this? they were so sensitive.
god damn why are people so uptight back then
Marilyn Monroe:

She was a really decent lady fair play to her.![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|give_upvote)
This woman was a national treasure.
I think the word is censured, not censored. If I’m wrong, then could somebody share what they censored?
Hattie McDaniel wasn’t allowed to attend the premier of GWTW in Atlanta because it was “white” theater. She almost wasn’t allowed to attend the Academy Awards (for which she was nominated and WON) but eventually they capitulated, seating her way off to the side, almost out of sight, right next to the kitchen door.
This title feels like it came straight from florida
This is cool but I’m definitely seeing two men on a date with their friend in tow. 💜🌈
When conservatives say they want to make America great again this is the racist period they are hoping to revive.
MM = Marilyn Monroe
1950s cancel culture – sitting in bars with Negroes??? You’re out, honey!
