I wrote to the mods in /r/NFL to see if they thought this would fit their sub. The politely passed on the offer so I’m posting this into /r/gaming instead. Not sure this will align with everyone’s interests in this sub but the [video goes into detail about how console football gaming came to be and how it all started to fall apart.](https://youtu.be/HKwQypGfIV8?si=BCsBT5EWXUl3Wh6D&t=696) (link should jump to 11:36)
With all major sports in decline, the writing is on the wall for the NFL. They need to find new fans, or slowly become like baseball. instead. Not sure this will align with everyone’s interests here but the video goes into detail about how console football gaming came to be and how it all fell apart.

Most NFL fans don’t give a single shit about Madden games.
This is just ridiculous
Great video and thank you for sharing! Watched all of it. Definitely going to follow you on YouTube OP! Love this kind of stuff
What do you think about fantasy football in the context of all this? Seems fantasy football and gambling are the two biggest drivers for bringing in new interest to the NFL. And excuses to day drink on Sunday lol
