Saul’s last moments were running away like a coward, it was perfect to see him faced with serious consequences and he just loses the facade and chickens out.
And it makes the present day scenes of Better Call Saul play out perfectly. He tries conning his way out of it like in Breaking Bad but in the end he just surrenders and says “fuck it, let it happen, I admit it all”.
