I specifically remember GTA4 being the last game I played on a CRT TV. I went out and bought a 40gb fat PS3 just to play that game, I guess in 2008 or so. It shipped with component cables and all I had at the time was some CRT TV. But it wasn’t long before I switched to a HDTV. I remember being pissed that I had to buy an expensive cable. I kept that PS3 all through college and it was my prized possession for games/DVDs/Blurays and the first device I ever used Netflix on. I did of course eventually upgrade that brutal 40gb HDD to a 500gb. It was funny that when I bought it I didn’t think twice about the tiny hard drive because “its a console and consoles play games off the disc anyway”. PS2 mentality.
Also another funny thing I remember from that era was going over to people’s houses who actually had HDTVs, but seeing that their PS3/360 still looked like total sh*t. And it was always because at the time they didn’t know you needed an HDMI cable and had just hooked up the default component cables to their brand new HDTV. Doh.
Why should it be on a CRT? The game was made in 2008, optimised for HDTVs. Even some console versions were designed to be played at 720p. 2008 isn’t the CRT era, at all. The batman movie “The dark knight” came out the same year. It would look like shit on a CRT. As would most media of the time. This post makes very little sense.
Never played a PS3 on a CRT myself. Always utilised the HDMi
Cousin! Lets go see some TITTIES!
This very nice. Are you enjoying it?

I sometimes miss my CRT.
its not just in pixel retro games, but i find out that a lot of HD3d games look better on a crt.
one was the first dead rising and GTA 3 all the way to 4.
I remember CRT screens throwing up flicker and interference whenever I used to take pictures of it.
You know lcd screens existed at the same time as gta 4? There’s no reason to do this
Sheesh, I feel priviledged. I thought everyone was already using flatscreens when GTA4 came out.
it looks so good like this
GET HIM!!!!
The feeling of playing games on a CRT cannot be matched

CRTs I’ll pass been there for years done it !!
GTA IV is an HD Game PS3. Why this game is not remastered for the new consoles is crazy …..
I played 7th gen games on a CRT because I had to. It was awful.
