The Entire Cliff Beasts Timeline Explained | Netflix

  • I’m in love with the *idea* of this but the marketing is super weird. They seem very comfortable with the idea that at a glance, audiences can just overlook the fact that this is ironic. I’m all for subtlety usually, but I feel this needs at least one extra neon sign.

  • The original Cliff Beasts is a classic and 2 had some really good new ideas but after that they really went downhill. Hopefully they get their mojo back. After all keep in mind docs quote from Cliff Beasts 2 “you can’t keep a good Cliff Beast down.”

  • It’s an interesting idea, but seems like they are pretty heavily signposting some of the drama/comedy of the film (like Karen Gillan’s character coming back and being the new main character over David Duchovny, or the new director being a weird auteur, Pedro Pascal being a ‘serious actor’ who doesn’t really care about the film etc).

Hope it isn’t as predictable/derivative as it sort of looks from this, because Tropic Thunder is great and This Is The End is one of my favourite comedies ever and that’s sort of a similar vibe.
