From what I’ve seen, the crowd reactions are underwhelming to this new product. I’m actually a big fan of remote play and use it to play on different devices through my house. If it’s priced right I think it’s something I would purchase but I’m concerned Sony might put a steep price on it. A lot of people don’t see value in remote play but I think its very cool that I can just pickup and play anywhere at my house from my Ps5.
I mean, this looks like a controller was cut in half. Which bothers me, because I got my PS5 in january and am already having stick issues with my first controller.
You know if there was some weird zonai gloop gluing it together this thing would look a lot less fragile than it is. I feel like sony are missing a trick by making it *not* built like a brick, at least then you could give it to your kids to play fortnite when you wanna watch TV.
We’re in a world where handhelds are desired but somehow only Nintendo can figure this out. Why would we want a Sony handheld if you can’t use it outside of your home network 🤦🏻♂️ I’d kill for Microsoft and Sony to get into the real handheld market
Within that show case I basically saw a Splatoon rip-off with Foamstars, a BOTW rip-off with Towers of Aghasaba, and this abomination of a handheld that is streaming only (Switch wannabe).
I just wanted more PSVR2 content and Sony failed on that front. The god damn headset costs more than the entire platform and they couldn’t show more than a few games… complete B.S.
They don’t give us the ability to watch content in cinema mode with a media player. How about YouTube VR with 360 videos? Anything to keep us busy between game releases.
As someone that often uses a backbone to play remote on my phone – I just don’t see the benefit of this? Sony has literally been promoting the backbone on their official pages – only to announce they are competing with it days later. Super weird.
It’s like the CEO of Sony, his kid wants to play a hand held console so bad but they have a strict Sony only rule in the house so he had the devs make this to get hid to shut up.
Awww I just thought of the only scenario in which I would buy this thing: If sony gave it free access to ps now, ala gamepass, where I wouldn’t need the ps5 to be on. I would kill for a ps brand portable that could reliably stream playstation classics. This though, my phone could literally so this 2 years ago for free.
ice keese wing hd upgrade lmao
Well, Sony as always.
They pooped themselves.
I just wish someone, anyone would explain why this exists. Who the hell was asking for *this*?
No PS5 slim. But here’s this thing.

pairing a controller with your phone and start remote play does exactly the same as this device. there is literally no reason for this thing lol

The low resolution image is pretty accurate to how games look when streaming from your phone.
What’s up with the Ms Paint censoring?
I don’t understand why the controls are sitting on the highest portion of the screen… is it adjustable?
Do the test, hold your phone on the highest portion of the screen and then on the lowest, it’s more comfortable IMO

Is this a legit thing?
Looks like one of those Razer Kishi types you’d use on a phone for emulation
I can hear the Ultrahand sound effect emanating from this picture haha well done
Its like they looked at the Steam Deck and tried to make a copy as ugly as possible.
Wtf of the point of this, for $20 you can buy a mount stand to snap your phone into your existing controller.
I would maybe understand this if it was a screen that snapped onto the existing controller… but wtf is this. And it surely will be at least $200 USD.

It at least looks comfortable to hold and more natural compared to Switch and Steam Deck.
Steam deck laughing like a villain rn
To be fair I’ve been playing TOTK on PC with my DualSense controller and it feels like this, thanks to /r/Yuzu/

Sony needs to step it up, Nintendo and Microsoft got Gaming on point‼️
It’s like the CEO of Sony, his kid wants to play a hand held console so bad but they have a strict Sony only rule in the house so he had the devs make this to get hid to shut up.
I hope Cloud gaming dies and quick and painless death
Price tag will be something like $249.99 and only dumbasses and collectors will buy it
Tbh the only game this device is needed for is Astros Playroom and its an easy plat
I’ll consider it if I ever start working in the office again.
This needs the opposite of the reaction the presenter had during Diablo Immortal reveal:
“You guys have phones??”

More surprised Xbox didn’t do this first, tbh
What?
given the abysmal battery life of their controllers what kind of run time would this shit have? 30 min per charge?
Imagine if they made a handheld that was really a Steamdeck rival. 4k screen, PSP, Vita, PS1-2-3-4 titles on it and no need for the PS5 to play it
