The way the developers incorporated and rendered the rats is honestly ingenious. Blows me away every time I replay it.

They took the worst part of many games….the escort quest and made an entire game out of it.
Slightly better than Hellblade tho

it’s a great game but I expected a darker ending. It ended too well.
It’s a good game! though it kinda jumps the shark on the last bit and I got districted by thinking about how the badguys would have won if they ever, y’know, moved at a speed faster than a brisk walk which undercut some of the emotional stuff.
I liked how they did companions in it. They give them specific abilities that are used for puzzles in the levels they are with you so it sells the teamwork thing very well and it doesn’t feel like they are following you around to dump exposition at you.
I never had a problem with it being an “escort quest” like a lot of people. It might be down to which way you think about it but I consider the speed you run at with Hugo to be the *normal speed* and leaving him behind is short term speed boost ability. When he is holding your hand you are effectively the *same character*. It’s not like an escort quest where you have to guard an NPC with stupid AI.

Still I had it for free on the epic game store ald I surely wouldn’t have the same opinion if I have paid full price 💀
very under publicized game. interesting story, confronting imagery and amazing graphics.
At first I thought it was the uncharted mission with the bugs, but then I was like “wait, drake doesn’t have long hair.”

See? That’s why I hate pc gaming. First game on first gaming PC, and instead of simply playing it, admiring the graphics, gameplay, story… the first thing a PC user does is measuring how well it runs. Yeah, you can have a beefy PC, but your next years of gaming will consist of checking graphs and being happy about numbers instead of the games itself.
No offense, I was doing the same when I was gaming on PC.
