I’m extremely optimistic about this movie. I thought Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy’s last movie was great so they clearly work well together and it’s got a really good writer with Jonathan Trooper
I might have been interested in this movie if I hadn’t seen the trailer. The premise is interesting and the actors are good, but when they hype it up as an “instant classic” and an “action movie with family and heart” it just sounds like they are really desperate. I mean . . . “Spielberg would have loved it!” Seriously? Why was the man himself unavailable for comment?
Maybe I’m just too cynical. All these movies start to look the same to me.
Wasn’t sure what to interpret from the poster. The poster made it seem like there’s some intriguing idea in the movie with the tagline “Time Flies.” It’s not great, but not terrible. It definitely conveyed the vibe of the movie that I got from the trailer.
This trailer cooled me off on the concept though. I love Ryan Reynolds, and the concept here seems pretty cool, but I wish he would play it more seriously. If he played it straighter, it *appears* to have the potential of a great sci-fi action movie, on par with Looper, maybe even Minority Report. The talent in the cast is definitely there for it.
As is though, what I gleaned from the trailer is that the tone comes off like a light, popcorn fare, Netflix throwaway. Feels like a more sci-fi heavy Free Guy, but *marginally* more serious. I’m sure that’s all they were going for. I’ll probably still watch it, but the trailer feels disappointing.
Just watched it. There’s a couple moments I like but it reeks of a project with actual inspiration that was changed beyond recognition to suit a large budget and Ryan Reynolds’ personality. For every nice “hug your parents” moment there’s 20 minutes of eye glazing action scenes and terrible jokes.
Ruffalo is going to make me cry, again.
I automatically appreciate any trailer that uses any Boston song *other* than More Than a Feeling.

Opening/dropping the same day as Pixar’s Turning Red, there are going to be some very high streaming numbers that weekend.

wonder if Ryan Reynolds is going to play Ryan Reynolds in this one
Looks fun.
This looks really good – it’s a shame he left the film but Shawn Levy would make an incredible Uncharted director
Featuring Ryan Reynolds…playing…Ryan Reynolds.
I saw it last night, it’s sadly not great.
Hopefully Jennifer Garner gets as much screen time in the movie as she did in that trailer. Woman has zero talent.

And so the meta-multiverse-joke era begins

Looks decently enjoyable. Might turn this on if I don’t have plans on a weekend and just need to kill time.
Jesus christ Ryan Reynolds can’t act. He is insufferably smarmy. I don’t understand Hollywood’s obsession over him. Stop it with this guy already
I can’t wait for this movie
Looks decent. Turned the trailer off halfway so there’s something left to watch lol.
