She was such a lovely person and inspiration to many. I had the privilege of interviewing her and it was a joy. She is my favorite subject of all time.

Julia Child is pure magic! I love watching her old black and white cooking show (the original)…it was very real, no edits and she was a boss lady even under pressure. How lucky for your Pops to have met her. Thanks for sharing OP, this is fantastic!

I don’t think I’ve ever thought about it, but have to say Julia Child could beat my ass easily.
We grew up North of Harvard Square, and she lived around the corner. This was in the 1970s.
One snowy winter day my brother came running inside with big news.
“Mom! Mom!”
“Julia and I have the exact same snow suit!”
Sure enough – she was outside her house – shoveling snow – in a big red snow suit, full bottom to top zip up, just like my brothers.
Any chance this was in Cambridge MA?

My dad was a meat cutter, and she used to come into his market and ask for specific cuts, and he would occasionally do deliveries for her as well. He raved about her. Better than the time Whitey Bulger used to come to the market. Haha
I worked at a hardware store near where she lived about 25 years ago and had to assemble a bookshelf for her. Ended up doing quite a bit of handyman work for her after. Nice lady, my mom was so jealous of the whole thing. Yeah I know, cool story bro.
Why doesn’t Julia Child, the largest of the celebrity chefs, not simply eat the other chefs?
I used to perform cooking shows for my parents in the style of Julia Child, with the voice and everything, to crack them up. I absolutely love her.
