That’s on the Parent for not making sure the key was secure in the lock, or that the key wasn’t on a chain or something retrievable. Children have notoriously bad hand dexterity. This is more r/KidsAreFuckingStupid than funny.
Same energy as that uncle who films him and his niece pouring juice/milk into cups. A cute base with wholeseome icing and a bit of chaos sprinkled on top.
I think it’s great the parent is allowing the kid to take on these types of responsibilities, it’s how we learn from our mistakes.
It’s obviously not anything too drastic and can prob just reach through the gate for the key or they most likely have another.
The thing I’ve learned about my son is I have a fair amount of control over how impactful his failures are to him and myself. If I give him a cup of milk to practice drinking from a cup, generally the worst case is milk everywhere.
If I hand him a key while he’s standing near a gate/grate/fence/physical barrier, I have to assume that worst case he will drop that key and there’s a solid chance it is not retrievable.
Set your kids up for small failures so they can learn and grow, try to avoid big ones.
Whoops.
Go get it Dad!
🤣🤣🤣
At least he’s small enough to chuck over the fence and retrieve it.
I expected much worse, honestly. Why would you do this?
Just don’t hand him the boat keys.

He tried at least
ha. fucking kids. If they weren’t so cute while they were kicking us in the balls, we wouldn’t exist…
From that sound I thought that was an electrical fence and he dropped it because he was getting shocked… I’ve spent too much time on Reddit.

What does this have to do with him being a son?
Can’t fault him, the lock looked like it *was* above his reach
I love the sound kids make when they do an oopsie. “op”

I don’t think I would even let a kid that age push the elevator buttons.
Parenting learning moment.
Uh !
Wow wow wow wow

Rookie dad move.
Now you can toss him over the gate.
The first rule of parenting comes from Murphy. Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.
What’s up with the tazer sound?
Might want a new one. That appears to be broke.
