A certain choice you can make in the last level of Bastion. And the way enemies react if you make the moral choice. It’s genuinely one of the best non-cutscene story implementations I’ve ever seen.
Pentiment. I actually didn’t like the game too much overall, but it really got to me emotionally in a surprising way. Might have to do with the fact that I was/am a new dad…
COD Infinite Warfare. Hands down the best campaign in any COD game ever. It didn’t glorify war and such, it killed off almost everybody, on top of fun gameplay and multiple sad moments where I actually cried. Honestly too bad the multiplayer was pay to win.
Titanfall 2
Syberia
PSP crisis core
Yakuza: Like A Dragon. Knew nothing about the series but liked how it was a turn based game in a modern day setting. Story made me tear up
Splinter Cell Conviction. Look up the Sam’s rage scene.
What’s the image from?
Well I certainly didn’t expect a Furi spoiler of all things
Minecraft, I don’t understand why I’m so attached to my horse
Ohh Furi my belloved. Underrated gem. 10/10 soundtrack listening to this day.
Rime. I was not prepared.
Halo reach, even the second playthrough hit hard
Rdr2
Smash melee.
It was in the cube when my mom decided to throw it at my face
Stray. I thought it would be just a cute lil cat game but it ended up making me cry

Detroit become human
Final Fantasy 6. When Loche never gives up trying to save his wife. 10/10 feels on this one. Unbelievable.
Sea of thieves
Didn’t expect to get so emotionally wrapped up in Ghost of Tsushima as I did, but by the end, and the decision you have to make, I was crying.
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons.
Tried it on a whim cause it was a cheap puzzle like game. Did not expect the story.
Scarlet Nexus had no business being as depressing as it was at times, man.
I’m an old man, so:
Megaman 3 when the whistle starts playing and Protoman (essentially your big bro) saves you, rolling into the credits
Metroid 2 when the baby Metroid imprints on you, then in Super when it sacrifices itself reviving and shielding you
Link’s Awakening, Marin knows that the island is just a dream
Saban giving up winning the coin flip for Edgar in FF6. I’m also a twin, so yeah.
Pentiment. I actually didn’t like the game too much overall, but it really got to me emotionally in a surprising way. Might have to do with the fact that I was/am a new dad…
Subnautica for sure, I did not at all expect to be almost bawling at what’s at it’s core, a survival game
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. That ending STILL breaks me down.
COD Infinite Warfare. Hands down the best campaign in any COD game ever. It didn’t glorify war and such, it killed off almost everybody, on top of fun gameplay and multiple sad moments where I actually cried. Honestly too bad the multiplayer was pay to win.
The rebooted Wolfenstein games hit really hard in places.
