I’m so use to auto save that I didn’t even realize I had to manual save in yakuza 0. Had to replay the start of the game. The kicker was that I quit right before getting to the phone booth save location.

Dude imagine wanting to play a game just to accidentally press “start new game” instead of “continue game” and resting your 10h of progress and your dad getting mad at you because you played with him.
My younger brother made the mistake of telling me that his Xbox 1 has a voice feature. In true sibling assholery I would walk by him playing and say “Xbox load last save” “Xbox open map” and other such infuriating things.
I csnt remember a single game that just auto loads a save file ince you press load. They all take you to a screen to select which file to load. So this doesn’t happen.
I once did the opposite and saved the game instead of loading it in tomb raider.
I think it was tomb raider 2, I was trying to make a jump and if you didn’t make it you would fall quite a way to your death. Me being impatient didn’t want to wait the extra 3 second to load the game after failing to make the jump. I went to the menu to load but accidentally saved it as I was falling. So now every time I loaded the game poor Lara was falling to her death, over and over and over.
I’m 20+ I did it today twice
So any times final fantasy tactics
Even worse if you hit save instead of load and you only have one save slot

I am down voting you because this has triggered my PTSD. So many games, so much progress “load deleted”, so much pain…..

Me looking at a stupid Linus meme.
Meaning to save, hitting load, seeing the confirm screen and still saying yes to load
you say ps2, i say Sierra adventure games
I do this now with save states. It’s the worst.
the other way around is worse sometimes.
Ha, I just did this on FF7 remake. Decided to take a break from the game after that.
I did this recently playing a pc game. After that I just started spamming F5.
I fucking hate his face, dudes got one of the most punchable faces in existence.
I still accidentally do this with the save/load features of emulators.
My brother and his buddy once overwrote my near 100% save for Burnout 3.
Remember dudes, never save in the first slot.
Anyone remember back when default quicksave was F5 and default quickload was F6?
lol
This just triggered repressed memories. Thanks.
that happened to me in Cyberpunk
Thank god for autosave these days.

When you meant to hit F5 but hit F6 instead.
A friend of mine deleted a Banjo and Kazooie save with 12 hrs on it. I chased him and nearly brained him with a bat. Maybe I’m a sorta bad person…
Goddamn you. I just got that one put away in a dark corner of my head and you pick now to drive that memory into my brain like a train spike.
