It’s not part of being an adult. Adults can have friends and family who play co-op with them.
I feel that, especially when I fire up the Xbox and all the friends are *offline*
*”. . . Gang’s all here. . .”*
I mean to be fair there are hardly any co-op campaigns anymore anyway.
I’m immune (I’ve never had friends)
Hits hard mate. Just remember, games don’t have an expiry date. Hold on to those co-op games you want to play and keep an eye out for a prospective player two 👍 you’ll get there.
My wife is my coop partner. Choose better.
I used to pull all nighters playing gta online with my friend. He hasn’t played in years now
Have you tried Deep Rock Galactic?
Funnest game I’ve played in a long time, very obsessed with it at the moment 🪨
Hit me right In the feels.
I had an online friend that I used to play with wayyy back, and we met in Warcraft III The Frozen Throne. There after head to minecraft and Steam game, etc.
In 2018, when I went to Korea for a school trip, the last message i had with him was, “Take a lot of pictures and see you soon!”.
He passed away during my 2nd day in Korea, my best pal in Minecraft, my comrade in CS:GO, my bro in Broforce.
Now, I occasionally look at his SteamID, counting the years that he left.
i have my friends. but there isn’t a single co-op game that we can just sit on a couch and play. all them are either online (bad internet, literally can’t play anything online) or just isn’t good in quality.
I’m embarrassed to admit that I actually cried seeing this post.
I miss playing with the homies
This but with siblings
Used to play coop games with my two friends all the time. Now we havent played in years
One friend has wife and kid and my other friend just lost interest
To be honest ive also mostly lost interest in playing any video games. And its only certain coop games that can hold me attention now
Maybe its just a part of growing older (im 37 now)
I plugged in my 360 after such a long time, was surprised it still worked, just scrolling through my friends list gave me that kinda nostalgic but also kinda pain in my chest. Haven’t thought about playing halo 3 custom games in about 10 years, but I half expected to boot up the game and find them all sitting in the lobby like the good old days.
Nowasday there aren’t many coop games and if you wanna play with friends each one would have to buy a console bcs theres almost no local anymore even in games that should have and depending on where you are in the world, buying a console ain’t something cheap/easy..
I just need a middle-aged gamer group that doesn’t get competitive. I just want to have fun, I care less about winning
Why I like games like Deep Rock. Might not know who my fellow dwarves are, but until the mission is done we’re brothers. Rock and stone!
“Last Online….”
My friends are still around but they literally don’t do anything but play LoL these days despite my attempts to get them into other games. I played LoL for the better part of 10 years and finally broke free of it and don’t want to go back, so I just play on my own.
Is Dead Island 2 a good CoOp game? Like if somebody starts the game are we both progressing together or is it like Far Cry and Dying Light 2 where only the host progresses and not the guest.
Man, I spent countless days and nights playing wow with my best friend ever. Next thing you know he just passes away suddenly
Now there’s no more coop campaigns
I use to play with my little brother and it was almost always fun but now he’s busy all the time and i got nobody else i miss it a little
Last online 3 years
Part of why i love MMORPG’s to be honest, even starting alone with nothing you can have a great group of friends a week later. No other genre brings people together like that.
Only problem is a lot of these friends usually stick to their MMO and won’t follow you many other places.. xD
What’s even worst, at least for me, i was always about multiplayer back then since i had friends, now it’s just single player campaign.
But I’m old and don’t have children.
I’ll play with you man
This is why I steer clear of these online multi-player games and stick to single-player. If, say, 10 years down the line, I end up feeling nostalgic and decide to boot up the game, I’ll be able to get just as much enjoyment as I did before I stopped playing.
To clarify, I specifically only play games with a single-player option. I avoid games that ONLY have multi-player or games where you technically can do single-player, but the difficulty in doing so is ridiculously high.
I miss this. I feel like the beginning of the xbox 360 era was a lot less toxic than things are now. Had some incredible Burnout lobbies where everyone was chill.
Why you made me cry
This is legit me. We used to all get together Friday for the weekend and play games all weekend halo 3 some pro evo, age of empires even some command and conquer. Then we grew up and started working to see each other less. I moved down south about 10 years ago. we used to talk and play stuff, but it’s not the same. We’ve all drifted apart now. There’s recently been arguments among the group just to top it off I havnt really spoken to them in months I really miss those simpler times just playing games all weekend not a care in the world now we barely speak. Value the times you’re having they might not last even something as simple as playing games with mates. I really miss it sucks being a solo gamer
i am 40 and i recently played a LOT of the diablo 4 beta with friends. first time in a few years i actually did a lot of gaming with others
I played the long game on this situation. Sure it sucked going all those years without a copilot, but a few months ago, my 9 year old son asked me to help him take down a rathian in monster hunter. Good times are back.
Except I’m an adult and have like 40 other adult friends that all do stuff with eachother.
You don’t have to not have gaming friends as an adult.
Mate, get on Deep Rock Galactic. It’s full of friendless people who work together for fortune and glory. I’ve got over 1000 missions done with in random lobbies
Actually, it won’t be better.
If you don’t work to keep the friends you have, eventually they will go away. New jobs, new families, new friends. Eventually it’ll just be you, and maybe your wife if you’re lucky.
That’s what happens when you take for granted that they’ll always be there.
Pretty soon you’re fist-bumping your plushie cuz that’s all that’s left.
