I was at this. It was in an old WWII Air Hanger in Suffolk (I think it was Suffolk :)). In the U.K.
It was an Energy Rave that had already been moved twice to keep it from the police. I think I arrived at about 3am. 4 car loads of us and I was already totally off my nut. Energy and Sunrise were the 2 big raves at the time.
This definitely has those “the sun has come up, the best part of the night was hours ago, the only thing keeping me moving is whatever is left in my system, but there is no way on earth I’m ready to deal with reality just yet” vibes.
I miss warehouse raves. I came up in the late 90s when they were still around in the northeast, mostly in NYC but occasionally in my hometown of Boston. 20+ years later and my wife and I are still a part of the edm scene but it’s changed so much that sometimes I don’t recognize it. Back during the warehouse days everyone attending TRULY cares about each other and the atmosphere is still the most positive I’ve ever experienced anywhere. Now, while the actual DJ sets are often better and, obviously, much more elaborate, it often feels like there’s something missing because too many festival/show attendees are just there to be seen or because it’s “the cool thing to do” rather than having an honest love of the music, culture and the community.
Great times. I remember vividly the raves in Toronto, Canada back in the early to mid 90s where one need to know a person that knew a person that would give you a piece of paper with a time/location written on it to which you’d meet up and jump in a school bus and you’d be driven to some obscure location for a night of bliss.
You never really knew where you were going, for the most part. It always ended up being some massive, abandoned warehouse off multiple sideroads way out in the boonies.

This can tell it’s a rave in 1989 and not contemporary because everyone is fully clothed.
Fucking miss them days
Holy shit I’ve just been vintage dancing this whole time!
Ultraworld and the D.C./Maryland rave scene in the early 90’s was the shit! Damn I miss those days.
1992, Albuquerque, illegal raves were the best! 10 bucks to get in, smelly, scary, but every person was dancing. 16 yr old me loved it!
Can anyone track id any of these?
Every one of these people is at least 50
Here are all the tracks
Corporation of One – So Where Are You (Hashish Dub)
Latin Rage – Sueno Latino (Extended Remix)
J.D. – Good Vibrations
BCN Orchestra – Quien Tu Te Crees?
Bits & Pieces 89 (R/U/DEF/BOY. Mix)
Looney Tunes Vol 1 – Another Time, Another Place
Mark Imperial – Bonus Krafty Beaver (Rock This House ’89 EP)
Sheila – Acid Kiss (Love Machine Mix)
Why is it illegal ? Is it the dance moves ?
*Not a cell phone in sight, just kids vibing*
I miss rave’s. My cardio was on point and my wallet flush.
No neon, fog or lasers? What’s everyone raving about??
I remember how the walls and floors were just wet , everything was.
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a whole room of people just having fun, and not a cell phone anywhere to be seen
I can see atleast two people tripping the f*uck out!
Raving was a serious business
Its so weird to look back at an event like this and see minimal piercings, no tattoos, and everyone in modest baggy clothing.

Ahh good times.
Jeebuz— total flashback here…. And to think everyone there is now 50+ years old!

God the E was so good back then
If it was today there’d be like 30 influencers in one spot taking reels of themselves by like some weird generic looking art piece
Watching this gave the uncontrollable urge to grit and grind my teeth
