City hall in my city had these big cement balls on the curb, that blocks car crashes or w/e theyre used for, painted like pokeballs but they painted over them to look like regular stones again them a couple years ago
I didn’t read all the comments to see if this was mentioned, but stuff like this always reminds me of David Zinn’s street art that pops up in Ann Arbor. It’s not ‘game art’, but is still really cool (very unique characters and fantasy related themes that are 3d-ish). He’s usually out in the Summer in the downtown area just doing his thing, and the ‘Singin’ in the Rain’ mural type thing he did by the bus depot is permanent. Definitely Google him for a lot of his great pieces, if you are into this type of thing.
I randomly struck up a conversation with him once walking down the street after living there for a few years (had no idea it was him), and then I asked what was in the case he was carrying. He had me guess, and I thought it might be a musical instrument. He said, “close”, and after a second or two, I overzealously blurted out, “Oh, are you the guy that puts up all the cool chalk drawings?!?”.
It was a really great conversation, even before I knew who he was, as he really seems like he has his priorities in life down, and I left really respecting the guy even more. Kind of a local, mini celeb too, as some older women that noticed us came over and were super excited to meet him too.
Absolutely agree
At the very least more art like this will make our day’s a little brighter
I can’t believe they let this out of the Louvre
I can hear this art. You know the sound of those blocks crushing down? I immediately heard that when I saw this. Anyone else?
This is in Oostende in Belgium. There is a Duckhunt artpiece in my street, and I spotted Street Fighter art as well. Probably the same artist ^^
RIP Mario the man & Mario the idea
Too bad Nintendo doesn’t.

There are more in the artist’s gallery [Kordianl](https://www.deviantart.com/kordianl)
I can hear the womp sound
As a librarian, I’d 100% support someone doing this to the pottery outside of my library.
Images you can hear.
Only true gamers will understand the reference.
Why? It’s just meaningless shit.
Perchance
I can hear this picture.
Check out Invader , https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invader_(artist) , a French street artist who does a lot of simple old school related street art.
Thwomp finally got him!
I love street art like this, I wish governments would allow more of it.
With the next generations of adults you’ll probably see more and more of this sort of video game centric street art. I’m all for it.

[FWIW someone painted Waldo on a hotel where i grew up](https://bloximages.newyork1.vip.townnews.com/smdailyjournal.com/content/tncms/assets/v3/editorial/d/6a/d6a847a5-6d49-5941-a2e0-c1e9dc8d82de/59513f6f3cc8e.image.jpg). And on the ground by the hotel it said “Can you find Waldo?”, sort of a cute game.
Today on pictures you can hear…

This is pretty much VR in a couple years
He has more lives…. R-r-right?
Did you take the pic?
Be careful Nintendo might have this removed because they don’t like anyone doing anything with their intellectual property.
Nintendo’s going to send its legal team
I would love to see cities paying artists to do these all over, instead of some messy “artworks” i see made illegally. Would be such a nice twist
Nintendo sending lawyers immediately /s

Seriously, why isn’t this a thing?
