  • I’m really curious about this doc and whether or not it’ll dig into Tupac essentially fronting so hard he became the role he played. Most biographies tend to cover his childhood, and then cover his adulthood, and portray the transition from one to the other as a sort of natural progression based on how true to himself he always was

But he kinda just… fronted *real hard* for a lot of the early 90s, which is why he wound up in some extra-stupid scenarios that got him in trouble, and eventually he just sorta *became* that. He had to *make himself* be that and a lot of biographies absolve him of that choice (mostly because they try to be hagiographies more than anything) and I’m curious as to whether this series will at least acknowledge that dude was more than a bit of a tryhard when he didn’t need to be, most certainly because that aspect didn’t actually (or ever) help him either personally *or* professionally. It’s a key aspect of the tragedy of his life and it doesn’t really get touched on too often, I’ve found.
