One of the most complex photos I made during that trip to Norway: the final shot is the result of a vertical panorama of two photos (to capture the northern lights so high in the sky) and a focus stacking to have the foreground on focus.. You can imagine the effort to put it all together, but in the end I managed to do it!
That evening I witnessed without any doubt to one of the most beautiful shows of my whole life, the aurora borealis really gave the best of herself: for the first time I saw also some blue hue in the aurora, which is one of the rarest color to see!

Woah.
Just caught the aurora in Iceland this past week. The pictures can’t do it justice, I can only imagine how this looked in person.
Whatever.
FYI at 24mm the hyperfocal distance is about 9ft at F8. Don’t need to focus stack. 5ft to infinity would be infocus. 15-20 second exposure at 800 iso and f8 should return excellent sharpness and image quality.
Very cool.
