U wut m8?
As of 2021 he’s only halfway done.
It’s mad how a steeplejack became a household name back in the 70s and 80s.
There weren’t owt on telly on those days (in a Lancashire accent).

This is incredible. Thank you for this time capsule.
Got admire any one digs a coal mine…..in their back garden!
(He really did!)
I recently watched everything I could find about Fred on youtube. It’s amazing because he was filmed throughout his life. You see his early career as a steeplejack, his growing obsession for steam engines, 2 marriages, and you can see his back yard transform as he adds more steam engines and finally a fully functioning coal mine. He also had a fantastic series on UK architecture.
had to climb a hundred foot ladder for work once. I thought that was long
There’s footage of him working at the top.. some brave cameraman climbed that ladder with a camera to shoot that…
When Fred first climbed to the top and went over the scaffolding and pulled himself up, wow..
I hear his voice, I keep seeing Warwick Davis and keep thinking it’s a comedy bit where Ricky Gervais is going to start a ripping loud cackle…
Wow this whole channel is a **gold mine.**
I enjoyed this so much. Now all I can think about is how I want to be dismantling a tower.
