  • I never knew what 2 was until a few years ago when my little brother told the rest of us about it. I never watch these horror movie really so I just never paid any attention. And it’s just like nooooo. It can’t have been, not in that era. So he put it on and my god. It’s soooo over the top with the homoeroticism. Just blatantly in your face about it that it’s funny. And like whatever, it’s metaphors for coming out whatever. I don’t care about any of that. It’s funny. It’s so weird, and so obvious but then doesn’t like directly acknowledge it at the same time in a way. In just a “Who the hell wrote this?! Who the hell thought this was a good idea?!” Genuinely amusing. Yet this went over people’s heads back then? But then people at the time still thought Liberace was straight despite it shinning like the sun in their eyes on that one so idk. Maybe people were just that dense still.

It isn’t good by any stretch. But it stands out for how just plain weird and uncomfortable it is to watch that main guy look weirded out because the actor himself was clearly confused and weirded out. And then you read that the actor was in fact traumatized by it all because he was in the closet and the director was blaming him later for the movie being as subtext filled as it was. The whole story is worth a movie of it’s own honestly.
