I read it three times as Michael Phelps. I was so confused.
And guess what song will be stuck in my head for the rest of the day?
She is gorgeous, but has just the hint of ‟serial killer” in her eyes.
The first album by the group was released a couple months after the initial 45 by the group, the low-charting “Go Where You Wanna Go,” then “California Dreamin’,” which hit US #4. The follow up to that was the blockbuster #1 ,” Monday, Monday,” released just after this album was released.
Although the group released five LPs during their career, the core four albums were from 1966-68. Their contractual obligation album, “People Like Us,” was released in 1971.
Several documentaries have noted the attention to the crafting of the polished vocal sound of the albums, and the layering of vocals by the members. Their albums from that time were re-released in 2001, in a fine collection, entitled “All The Leaves Are Brown.”
Michelle is sadly the only living member of The Mamas and The Papas. She has had health problems in recent years, and makes few public appearances.
It’s crazy how many artist ‘make it’… and no one’s ever heard of them. Especially now because of the internet. She’s beautiful.
Chynna Phillips (of Wilson Philips) mother.
I Saw Her Again is another great song by The Mamas and the Papas.
Listen to her in interviews and she is a total turn-off. Self absorbed and bratty even in old age.
Graham Nash thought she was gorgeous and was excited to go to the recording studio with Rodney Bingenheimer to meet her when he was in California with the Hollies. John, Denny and Michelle were inside the studio recording vocals when they got there, and Cass was outside. Graham and Cass chatted, and she invited him out the following day. He became very close friends with her and she introduced him to David Crosby. Cass is probably the reason Crosby, Stills and Nash existed, thanks to Michelle being busy recording. Graham still dedicates all his albums to Cass, just as CSN always did as well.
Damn I thought that was Reese Witherspoon for a second.
376 years before she had her heart broken by a particular Starfleet officer.
The ultimate flower child chick.
Michelle my belle!
Yeah, she learned that the “free love” of the era didn’t apply to the ladies like it did the guys…
In a weird distant way, she’s now related to Justin Bieber.
