Wow what a weird demonstration. Is the 4th of July special in Germany for some reason?
Johnny 5 is alive!
… all three of them!
Carrying them on imitation-Radio Flyer carts is how you know you’re dealing w/a real superpower.
Three. They had three god damn computers.
Other Communist countries would display power by parading ICBM’s.
The DDR did it by parading IBMC(lones)’s.
I’ll show myself out …
And those sexy outfits! I saw some WRIST!! Not pictured: Working power outlet.
I thought the lady in front was wiping her brow like pulling that absolute brick done tired her out.
The east german (GDR) government correctly recognized the importance of computers to come.
So they created a plan for a mega chip (one million circuits) factory and spent enormous resources on it. They lacked depth and width in that technology so it became a white elephant.
Nevertheless after after the revolution the remnants became the core of the still existing semiconductor manufacturing around Dresden.
Wish this had of caught on. I would love a public holiday for carting around computers through the streets.
KC86 was the name of it
