Beautiful man emotions.
Chris Stapleton will do that to you. He is amazing.
If the eagles lose, this image will be used to death.
Reminds me of Shoresy
IIRC he used to listen to renditions of the NA (specifically Whitney Houston’s) and visualize himself actually being there as the coach. I think the emotion hit him that he actually made it and was listening in real life.

It was a damn good version of the anthem.
The guy is coaching in the superbowl, it’s clearly an emotional moment. A lot of toxic masculinity based shame happening in this thread, and its gross.
As soon as I saw this during the game, I knew I was going to see it on Reddit before the night was over.
Everyone says men should be in touch with their emotions, and crying is a healthy thing, it’s ok to be a human being with feelings. Then…
I love how emotional this is for the players. They’re deservedly proud.
Oh shit, they lost. This is going to be everywhere.
There was a last minute script change and he just looked at his copy.
Everybody cries. Everybody has emotions. I really can’t believe how many people are mocking this.
Stapleton was amazing.
Right after he hocked a big ol fat loogie during “America the Beautiful”
Are you surprised at my tears, sir? Strong men also cry. *Strong men also cry.*
Chiefs fan here.
Stapleton nailed the anthem, and while this screen grab looks a bit awkward, I was like wow the eagles coach is hot. Nothing wrong with a man showing big emotions. It’s a big game!
Lots of people here turning this into something political.
He’s crying because he achieved his dream of making it to the super bowl.
Great moment. Stapleton was so good.
I am german and don’t know anything about football but watched the start of the Super Bowl yesterday.
When I saw his tears running down it was touching. Even more when I leaned from the german commentator who he is.
I think it was the combination of the beautiful rendition of the national anthem and being proud of having achieved to play in the final.
Good for him to show his feelings, even in a tough sport like football. 👍
Imagine meming a woman who made it to the pinnacle of their career after a lifetime of pursuing their goal.
Everyone hates toxic masculinity then you all tear this fucking dude apart for having genuine emotion.
Apparently a LOT of people here have never had a moment like this where all the hard work and dedication came to a head in one day. Add in the national anthem, and the pressure/ feelings or whatever you call it can make people emotional. I don’t find it cringe at all.
A combination of a lot of things will do this to you.

* Life long dream to coach in the SB realized. You put in countless hours and dedicated your life to be here. Someone in our family was a coach in college and the NFL and their dedication would kill most people. During the season the guy would leave his house at 3-4 am and get home around 10pm. He would often sleep at the facility.
* Stress makes you emotional.
* Great performance of the national anthem
* Football family, family, fans, are all here
* etc.
Remember when a member of your countries Olympic team stood on the podium and heard their national anthem and cried? Same sort of thing. These coaches have dedicated their lives and have made it to the pinnacle.
