First mistake was running, you never run while a Xenomorph is anywhere close or it’ll immediately detect you. On the harder difficulties it’s just a straight death sentence, you can’t outrun it.
Also I think moving while hiding can also help it find you. If you’re hiding then stay where you are, don’t move and listen for when it’s gone.
You guys ever play this game, light off, surround sound up, with your Kinect connected and you didn’t realize the mic was on and your dog randomly barks and you shit yourself as the alien comes barreling towards you?
the key in this game is moving because there is some kind of two AI one that searches for you and if you don’t move the other will give it your exact location
I love how pausing the game is just a universal action lol.
Anyone have dreams when they were younger where they were in a game and couldn’t pause it during these moments? Weird how dreams work, I’m “in” the game but still tried to pause it. So dumb lol
This game was fantastic. Of the first couple of hours I played I spend most of it in a locker lol. Once you hide it’s hard to bring yourself to get moving again!
When you look at the logic tree this lone NPC has it’s easy to understand why AI development typically takes a backseat in favor of generic “one size fits all” designs which are more cost effective.
To properly do something this advanced requires a lot of time and essentially turns it in to proprietary tech which is why it’s still easily the best in the business by a wide margin.
One of my Top 3 favourite games ever. Scared the shit out of me so many times on my first play through.
You do ‘learn’ how to get round Steve after a while though. As has been said, if you know he (massive gender assumption there) only has 1 route into a room while you have multiple escape routes, you can steer him into where you are, make a quick dash into where you want to be. Hide and he loses track and the chase is over… for a little while at least.
Can’t say it enough, fucking cracking game. Defo worth a play if you are at all into the Alien franchise and / or survival horror games.
I played this game on max difficulty for my first playthrough. Did I beat it? Yes. Do I recommend doing it one max difficulty for first playthrough? Hell to the no. I swear the AI can hear your thoughts and will instant transmission from across the space station to jumpscare murder you sometimes.
I’m not a horror survival enthusiast but this game was fucking terrifying. Easily one of the best games I’ve ever played.
Also I’m a huge fan of the aesthetic. Basically it retains the original set design from the original movie–what people in the late 70s thought the early 22nd century would be like. The game is more in the spirit of the first movie (trapped in a claustrophobic space station) as opposed to a high octane shooter like the 2nd movie. I would highly recommend this game.
Even the Kirkland-brand androids the company uses in the game are creepy as fuck with their glowing red eyes and their blank stare.
This game is an underrated masterpiece, possibly the best sound design ever in a game, criminally good AI and a good story that pays respect to the movie and original story. Watch the film and go play this game on nightmare mode,a fucking experience it is. 10/10
Played this once and kept dying at the same spot. I would hide under a desk, wait until she went by, then run out. There’s an inescapable cut scene, and then I would die. After the third time I decided not to hide under the desk, and guess who came peeking under the desk!? Alien/AI learning made this game terrifying.
And that’s why this game is a 10/10! The Alien has about ten scripted jumpscares throughout the whole 14-hour-game, the rest is the AI being its own thing. It even fucking LEARNS from your behavior, like if you hide in lockers too many times it’ll start looking there first. If you haven’t played this game, go do it. It’s on basically every platform.
Did you know that the alien always knows where you are. But there is a code that keeps info away from the aliens code and slowly feeds more information to the alien on where you are and your tactics that’s why the game gets progressively harder
Alien: I can smell u.
*I seee youuu!*
This game was fantastic.
Allen Isolation is great. An incredible amount of care was taken to recreate the aesthetic of the first movie, and to create a truly memorable Alien.
Shame it was so bloated, and even more of a shame it didn’t stop games from being bloated after.
Crap, that’s was scary to watch.

No, just me?
10/10 game, would buy new pair of pants again.

Nope.
Couldn’t play this. Was scared af.
I spent 20 minutes playing this in VR and I have never been the same.
Great game. I’m too chicken to finish it but it’s very fun.

This is why I won’t play. Looks awesome, but no.
I’ve had that game for about a year and a half and I’m only halfway through. It’s so goddamn stressful. If you get seen you done
I didn’t play this game but watched womble play it. Absolutely hilarious if anyone wants to check out

Tried so hard to play past the first level where you encounter the Alien…
Great game, never finished it.
Listened to the audiobook though.

“i paused the game therefor i didnt die”
classic
This game is a masterpiece
Doesn’t this game pick up microphones and uses it against you?
Hey I got stuck in that place too, never made it past it.

I bought this a few years ago but still haven’t played it because I’m too scared and suck at hiding games. 😅
This game was bloody terrifying

Thought this game was awesome.
Excellent game and decent sequel to the whole Alien franchise.
Remember when ign said the ai is frustrating even though in the video he was running around and using the tracker right in front of the alien
Good I can’t believe this game came out in 2014!
Absolutely phenomenal game and one of the most terrifying experiences of my life!
I call this game “the hide in a locker paralyzed with fear until I quit and uninstall” simulator.

I’m gonna be honest, I couldn’t finish watching this clip. I stopped the moment the alien crouched. It brought back memories.
I remember getting this game in a humble bundle, trying it, having a panic attack, uninstalling it, and not being able to sleep for a week.
I am the world’s biggest Alien fan and I am still too scared to play this game

*We’ll be right back*
Me coming back from the front door 3 times to check if the stove gas is really off before I go out
*It was at this moment that he knew he fucked up”.
