Only played thru the game once, n the side quests w him are easily the most tedious in the game.

It does kind of make me question the fact you met him like right at the start of the game so innocuously and then there is a whole expansion with him as the main antagonist. Like was he originally meant to be a quest in the base game and the idea was just so interesting they blew it up into a full storyline?

If Ubisoft of EA did the same thing of teasing a character in this way and then selling it at DLC, there would be outrage.
When I got on the boat I was like “awesome new area” and when I washed up back in novigrad or w/e I was so disappointed it tainted my view of the rest of the xpack.
Does he appear at the start of the game even if you don’t have the dlc?

Some of the storylines and characters in this game are just so fucking good, Dijsktra, the Baron, O’Dimm.
The amount of morally grey choices leaving u bittersweet At the end of a quest.
The Bloody Baron questline….
This game was just so good (except for the dumb lagging storage when u accumulate too much stuff, still can’t believe that’s a thing….), no idea how the fuck cyberpunk was made from the same devs.
