Then I saw him play at the George Harrison tribute concert and was stunned. He was serious, skilled, and completely took over a stage filled with superstars. Never looked at him the same again.
This Rolling Stones tour was probably one of their biggest and craziest tours. They had all top acts of the time opening for them : Prince, obviously and when I saw this show in Orlando, Van Halen played a full set. They also had Heart, J Geils, George Thorogood, ZZ Top, Tina Turner, The Stray Cats, Santana. It was wild seeing headline acts opening for them.
I was there, at the LA Coliseum that day.
He got booed off the stage when he played “Jack U Off”.

Mick Jagger BEGGED Prince to stay on the tour but there was only so much booing and trash thrown at him he could take.

Sorry I missed him during that tour. By the time the Stones came to Dallas, the lineup included The Fabulous Thunderbirds and Z Z Top.
