This makes me anxious. Reminds me of the horrible teachers/professors who didn’t “believe” in giving “A” grades. Excuse me while I go try to forget my academic PTSD! 🤮
We get this sorta situation with performance reviews that leads to our raises 1-10% at the end of the year. Like the categories are scored 0-5 with 0 needing vast improvement and 5 are rockstars but no one can be a rockstar in all categories so you’ll never be able to get a 10% raise and anything over a 6.7% requires approval from home office and several managers which is bullshit.
I used to handle the marketing and guest relations for a restaurant and this shit fired me up. The reasons people gave for 1 star reviews were insane. People would write 3 paragraphs about their amazing experience and give 4 stars. Former employees would go on and write insane reviews after being fired.
I hate review sites so much. If you’re never going to give a 5 you should be banned.
People like this didn’t archieve anything in life and trying to feel “important” by giving reviews like this. Either a homeless snob with minimum wage job or a prick with rich parents.
This reminds me of the old joke about a hiring manager: “I always take 10% of the resumes I receive and throw them in the trash, I don’t want to hire unlucky people.”
I work in retail, but let me just say: people who think their 5 star surveys are too valuable to give out are the most frustrating and entitled kind of humans. Yes the store may not be perfect at all times but damn it we’re trying our fucking best out here. We badly need the 5 stars when we do earn it just to make our average scores acceptable to our corporate bosses. So don’t be like this poor excuse for a human. If a business makes you happy, just give them the highest score possible because when people are even a little bit disappointed they go waaayyyy over the top with their criticisms. So even if you didn’t have a completely heavenly customer experience, as long as it was acceptable, I am begging you, on the behalf of my co-workers in the service industry, just give the fucking 5th star for crying out loud. We don’t just deserve it, we need it.
Saw a “ice cream was too cold” one star review on my previous restaurant job. I assumed it was a troll but honestly fuck that place give them negative stars they deserve it
I mean good reviews are always good but that 4* brings down the average which most people look at

Asshole.
The worst kind of person.
r/trashy
for me, i typically rate high or low expressly for impacting the mean
“Keep the good work”? See, THAT’S the problem. This reviewer didn’t want good work.

Definitely sounds like his hands are tied. Bureaucracy man. What are you gonna do? ¯_(ツ)_/¯
This is literally the reason why YouTube and Netflix got rid of the star system and just went to thumbs up and thumbs down, cause of people like this.
4 is the new 5
Boss: “You deserve a raise!”
Employee: “Really?”
Boss: “But I rarely give out raises so no. Keep up the good work.”

Person thinks they’re a famous eccentric food critic.
Why would you hide this guy’s name?
The world deserves to know who this asshole is.
