I just watched #1 Jeanne Dielman.
This is supposed to be the greatest film of all time.
I can’t stop laughing.
At least it’s directed by a woman.
Good job critics. You did it!
Beyond all the debate about political voting and arthouse vs commercial movies, etc. it really amazes me how *Singin’ in the Rain* keeps hanging there at number 10. That movie it’s a train wreck, half self indulgent fever dream, half unfunny misogynistic bore. Yet they had the gall to dump *Lawrence of Arabia* and *The Godfather II*.
I have seen a number of these kinds of lists although for different categories such as top 25 horror movies of all time. Surprising how few lists have many of the saame movies on them. Perhaps a meta analysis of 100 greatest film lists would get us a wider agreement if tht is even possible.
Not a bad list, but within the Kubrick cannon Barry Lyndon is not a better film than Dr. Strangelove (which was omitted). Especially in these times Dr. Strangelove is one of the most resonant satires of all time.
Is their one that wold be happy in involuntary loneliness. Sure there is but whatever.
Are these the 100 greatest films released in 2022?
Nope. Some *film critics’* list maybe, but there are way too many old art films with virtually zero enduring relevance or interest.
Just because a movie caused a (local) sensation in 1953 or whenever does not make it an all-time great.
Some surprising omissions on that list.
Was really expecting *’XXX: Return of Xander Cage’* to be in there.
No way some French film is #1 I call shenanigans
Seems very skewed towards older art films. They need to diversify the voting body more.
It’s funny to me how many people think that In the Mood for Love is a masterpiece
So sick of hearing about this list.
There is also the Sight & Sound poll of film directors, which has 2001 in the #1 spot.
Reddit ain’t gonna like this because there are no Marvel or Star Wars movies
This was fun to watch. I only knew about five of them lol.

I’ve definitely seen some of those.
“I can’t believe they left out Winter Soldier!”
-Some marvel fan probably.

What a terrible list lmao. Film snops fever dream.
Not one Tarantino film made the cut. I’m surprised.
What a pretentious list of movies. Mulholland Drive was one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen.
Respectfully…. no.
Some good movies in the list though.
This is a odd list. I’ve seen many of these movies and thought I knew a bit about the subject. Why have I never heard of the #1 film?
Every time you see a list like this don’t use it as an opportunity to dismiss it because they had your favorite movie at #3.
Use it as an opportunity to watch something you’ve never heard of.
