Well those are cut scenes, not game play. The did look amazing at that time. I hope they make a sequel to that game. Loads of fun.
CryEngine is just amazing. I love this game.
It is amazing what you can do with pre rendered cutscene. Remember what Toy Story looked like when games were still polygon messes?

I remember this game as being one of the most forgotten launch titles ever. Almost just like Goodall which looks amazing as well but is a lacklustre game as well.

Man have you seen the cinematics in diablo 2 theynare much better than the gameplay of ryse. Guess diablo 2 has better graphics than ryse.
Uh, no. Ryse was a shit game, a problem that went way deeper than the visuals, and sharing a screenshot from a cutscene doesn’t do a very good job of making the point that games are moving ‘backward.’

I actually just download ryse on steam. its a great game but imo doesnt compare graphics wise to any major title released this year. gameplay also is repetitive hack and slash. fun game tho.

I actually really enjoyed Ryse, I’m big into that time period so of course, lots of fanboyism came from it, it was ridiculously linear, but I had fun with it, IIRC it had some arena type challenges as well which were really enjoyable!
No PBR and plasticky-looking metal.
It’s just cause of the Roughness on this pre rendered cutscene, otherwise game looks like any other 2013 game which is average
