That was beyond impressive.
Thanks to the camera angles and ability to pause/rewind a video you can catch some of the places where he palms a card, but that alone reveals nothing about how he manipulated the deck
Wasn’t this yesterdays top post? Yesterdays post had some knowledgable people going over this trick and trying to figure it out, it had some really interesting comments.
To be fair it seems they went over their allotted time and couldn’t go into the after-analysis bit due to time concerns.
It does make the win a bit less satisfying to watch. Incredible trickery though and the way he controls the deck is really sublime
>!I have no idea either!<
I think Penn and Teller knew exactly what he did, but it was so layered with so many different tricks and strategy that they just gave it to him out of respect of how difficult it was.
At one point teller looks exhausted as he’s following along. These guys are awesome.
This guy to me is the best card magician in the world. Been watching him for many years, he is INCREDIBLE!

Everything he had them do just seemed so random and not forced so i really dont know how he made the card she wanted be in the 21st spot. Guy is a wizard
I don’t believe that people can have magic powers but I can’t come up with a better explanation for this.
This was just on the front page 2 days ago, wait at least a month to repost. Come on OP
What’s even crazier is that it was revealed on Penn’s podcast that Dani Daortiz wasn’t planning on performing, as he doesn’t perform for TV, but was there to help another magician. The producers convinced him to do it, and he didn’t have anything planned beforehand.
I don’t know about being the first they don’t even try to figure out, the first time with Jandro they also gave the trophy at the spot and were spechless.
Spanish magicians in this show usually are great, almost all of them got a trophy.
It seems that all of his magic revolves around knowing the deck’s order and being able to pull on a specific card when needed. If it’s is easy to retrieve he does so immediately. If it’s one he has to ‘find’ then he uses his story telling to buy time to retrieve it.
The man is super impressive at his craft.
I saw him performing at a small show a few years ago and he was absolutely incredible.
I just love how disrespectful the whole act was; like he didn’t need crazy flourishes or misdirection or strong forcing of the cards. Just “here are some cards, here is some fucking magic, now clap motherfucker.”
Just an endless pool of talent that is impossible to parse so is actually possibly real magic.
I wonder if it’s some insanely quick mental card counting + sleight of hand going on. That was incredible.
Yeah no they have multiple acts that they don’t bother trying.
Excuse the crappy react video, it’s the only one I can find that shows the episode; https://youtu.be/aRg7o8FTeaU
Richard Turner (the card mechanic) is another they didn’t even bother
Doing magic looks like someone high on speed or something with how much they need to fiddle with stuff. And the intro of this show is the worst.
I kind of feel like he could explain step by step exactly how he did this trick and I still wouldn’t have any idea.
Welcome to sous vide everything everybody!
I love how Donny Osmond’s face goes from laughing, “Wow, that’s incredibly entertaining!!” at 2:05 to stone-faced, “I’m starting to actually question reality right now…” at 2:36.
at 2:05 you can see he has picked up the 4 10’s, he then pulls out a new set of 4 cards while he points in Teller’s direction. This is when he switched the 10’s for the 7’s.
haven’t figured the rest of this tricks yet
