I appreciate the effort and it’s a very sexy dance, quite interesting considering it was made in 1959! But that’s not snake dance.
Not sure how to feel about German speaking Western actors wearing bronze makeup to play Indian characters. But then it’s a movie from 1959, so it’s also not right to critique it from the perspective of today’s ethos and values.
Wow, that was a really daring outfit for 1959…
I suspect she’s about as close to being Indian as that puppet is close to being an actual snake.
The statue got huge boobas
Dude’s face at 3:40
When my wife said she wanted to out dancing I didn’t expect this. I look ridiculous in that outfit
I’m sure this outfit and dance absolutely blew minds in 1959. Never quite understood why the previous generations were so prudish, especially seeing clips like this. Perhaps they justified it as “Appreciating exotic culture” or something ridiculous like that.
Why haven’t I seen this before?
That snake was never meant to be seen in HD but she definitely was.
Her outfit looked like it was from an episode of [Star Trek TOS](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheissTitillationTheory).

Mother fucker really said the dancer has to die. Like he didn’t watch what we just watched.
Can’t NOBODY snake dance like Axl Rose circa 1988 https://tenor.com/view/axel-rose-dance-music-concert-gif-15780750
That snake was stiff as a board
Damn.
God damn. Take that Salma Hayak.
Not sure about the snake, but I’m charmed!
**Debra Paget is available, fellas!** Still alive at 89, and outlived all her husbands. She was also apparently a love interest for Elvis Presley and Howard Hughes.

Glue Failure, Glue Failure, GLUE FAILURE!!!!
It is safe to say that the Indian Tomb was a great inspiration for Lucas and Spielberg making Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
Not to be outdone by Willem Defoe in [*The Dance of the Sphinx & the Chimera*](http://thewoostergroup.org/blog/2012/09/19/from-the-archives-channel-j-the-dance-of-the-sphinx-and-the-chimera-1985/)
…NSFW
What a derpy looking snake
I didn’t know Swarovski made a whipped cream bikini
They did a really bad job of hiding the string holding up the “snake” at 3:39.
Imagine being a 59yr old dad going to the cinema having been born in 1900. Holy shit.
Okay, but can we talk about just how strong her body is? To be able to shift so seamlessly from one leg to another while squatting, takes strength. I point that out specifically because I used to be able to do that easily before I tore my acl.
Kinda reminds me of the Elaine dance
This is typical of Lang’s work… beautiful, voluptuous women gyrating and men, sweating profusely, looking on.
She was also in The 10 Commandments.
Certainly made my snake dance.
You can tell she’s reeeal careful when lifting her leg in the outfit. I’m thinking that there was more than one or two wardrobe malfunctions.
Can you imagine something like that being made today? : )
I can’t even count how many groups this would piss off. Makes it even funnier.
This looks like what inspired Salma Heyeks dance in Dusk till Dawn.
wow, that was racy even by todays standards. what a good dancer
Fascinating to see a movie made with a setting in India, for a German audience, in the German language.
Debra Paget is aged 89 now and her wikipedia entry was fascinating to read. It is completely unsurprising to see that some very famous persons were smitten with her including Elvis Presley and Howard Hughes!
Pretty racy for 1959.
There’s not enough boobs on our statues these days. We could add them to the Statue of Liberty, The Great Sphinx, and even Mount Rushmore. All would be improvements.
