I used to have a Mission Impossible style voicemail message, “Your mission if you choose to accept it is…..”, that was over 2 minutes long. This was early 2000’s and people still seemed to prefer leaving a recorded message than texting.
People either found it funny or were pissed off it took them so long to get to leaving a message. Had several irate messages from my mom that I wish I still had haha
I was low-key obsessed with having cool voicemails after I moved out of my parent’s house back in the ’90s and somehow missed this tape. My roommate and I just did some call and response thing with a Nine Inch Nails song playing in the background and I wish I still had it :-/
It was extra cool that the last 4 digits of our number spelled OBEY.
Believe it or not George isn’t at home
Waaaaait for da beep!
That “Nobody’s home!” Beethoven one has been playing in my head intermittently for the past 35 years.

$14.95 in the ’80s? Thats like $42.50 in 2023 dollars for 7 bad songs.
My poor ass would just record the commercial and play it with a sound recorder next to the TV. Boom! now I have it for free.

Dear god, it’s scary that I remembered all of those…
