Seriously fuck 2K, i was “oh, a lego racing game? that was fun in forza” but man, this is just another “money first, gameplay second” game riddled with battlepasses etc, utter garbage

If it’s a game you definitely want then make the choice, otherwise don’t pre-purchase anything and wait to see what reviews, gameplay vids and general outcome of the game before you decide
Most modern games aren’t worth 60£$
Also the pre-purchase means the game is not out yet so why even consider buying?
Remember when the base game would release and then the extra editions would come out 6-12 months after the dlc dropped?
Pepperidge Farms remembers.
At these prices I can happily wait for reviews and take a look what keysellers want to a steam code
Only if you want to play it in 4K
It ain’t Nintendo. I can wait for a sale.
Sometimes the bigger editions aren’t worth it. Depends on what’s in it. Something with a season pass with several future dlcs isn’t as bad as double the price for some cosmetics and items you can earn in game. (My example is Atelier Ryza 3). Although I do agree that even in the first to example double the price is pretty extreme.
Why would anyone ‘pre purchase’ (what a horrible way of saying ‘pre order’) anything?
Especially digital where it cant go out of stock.
Wait for reviews and massive price slashes.
Well, it worked for Pokemon
Deluxe editions were always a rip off. “The full experience” really doesn’t mean much, it’s just a couple of glitters on top
Fun fact: Lego Racers Abandonware edition is freely available online without spending a penny. There’s never been a better time to return to 1999.
Why do you have to buy it twice?
I like how the whole point of the post is that the price was outrageous and people are commenting to push their anti-preorder stance, as if for a release copy those prices would be justifiable. The game being out does not make it worth any of those amounts. Either you’re paying the full AAA price for half a game or you’re paying twice that much for the full game. Preorders have nothing to do with this.
That s what happens when someone other than TT games makes a lego game
r/patientgamers time
Why the fuck would I buy car packs? Can’t I just build my own car? I already do that anyway with Bricklink Studio.
The prices for Lego sets are getting out of hand and Lego game prices seem to follow.
Can’t wait to buy 100$ of VC to make my legocar drive 5% faster.
It’s a Lego game. Wait 6 months and the drive awesome Legacy edition will be $30
2k is a terrible studio , wait until lego myteam comes put and you have to spend hundreds of dollars to be able to compete online
yes, 2k is definitely the only company that does this….and the idea that you arent getting the “full experience” with just the standard edtion is silly.
The game still looks cool and all the stuff in the dlc packs is just fluff anyway. The only reason to buy dlc in my opinion is cool story/gameplay dlc. So yeah the prices for the packs are way to high but I wouldn’t say you are missing the “Full expirience” if you buy the standard edition. If anything you are playing the game the way it’s intended without any overpowered cars at the beginning or stuff like that.
I’ll wait for a 90% discount
This idea that you don’t have the “full” game unless you have literally everything the devs made from conception-to-forever is so stupid. Imagine how much shit ended up on the cutting room floor in the 90s that you never even knew existed which probably would’ve been turned into DLC/extras/deluxes if there was a mechanism in place for it back then.
Looking at that everything is not awesome at all
