It’s a good thing that the first shitty American Godzilla movie came out in 1998, just a bit later and it would’ve seemed really dumb to rag on the 2020s for having Godzilla vs Kong.
But to be fair, since 1974 the biggest movie of the year has always been a massive budget, special effects or entirely animated blockbuster except for like… Three movies?
Aw innit great that we had good superhero movies like Spider-Man in the 2000s. Sure would be a shame if stuff like Daredevil, Ghost Rider, Catwoman, Superman Returns, Hulk, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Elektra and X-Men Origins: Wolverine had also happened in that decade, wouldn’t it.
A better comparison would have been that the 2000s had a bunch of well written comedies and that genre is all but extinct today. I’m thinking Superbad, Dodgeball, Old School, Office Space (technically 1999), Borat, and the like. Every year there were multiple comedies being released. Now it’s mostly Marvel and DC crap with some amount of comic relief thrown in.
Jesus, this guy is far too young to be acting like a cantankerous old man who hates fun and can’t understand survivorship bias. It can’t be good for your blood pressure.
I grew up collecting comics. I love the Marvel universe, but I’ve had enough of the superhero movie genre. They could be great movies, I just don’t care anymore. The market is oversaturated, and I’m tired of seeing everything Marvel marketing everywhere I go.
The 2020’s clip should have randomly added a diverse set of characters in the background to claim diversity. Or just a gay black guy in a wheelchair LOL
“5 specific movies of the 2000s vs 5 specific movies of the 2020s”
Shit video tbh
This is a great example of how you tube content in the 2020s is garbage.
Those CGI workers are propping up the entire industry at this point. Writing has gone downhill, but visuals are really good.

This is trash
These guys are funny.

1976s Rocky
1987s Fatal Attraction
1990s Ghost
Yea the 2000s are known for being a pretty dark time for movies. This is rose coloured glasses for this guy’s youth more than it is accurate.
Toy Story was not in the 2000s my guy.
But also, please look up Survivorship Bias.
ok boomer

MINIONS!!!!!!
Who would have thought that *National Treasure* would one day be used as an example of nuanced and thoughtful cinema.
Guy used Godzilla vs King Kong as an example? No one tell him that [King Kong vs Godzilla](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Kong_vs._Godzilla) exists.
Bruh, Godzilla been around since the 1950s. It always been about giant monsters fighting…

So true about the Marvel movies though. Those have been all trash for so long

Dang these guys have grown up. Can’t tell if the redhead guy lost a lot of weight or just elongated.

I think this is just nostalgia and the filter of time.
I lived through the 2000s.
We had…so many dumb movies.
There are shit movies every era. But maybe focus on whether we getting a smaller percentile of good, deep movies now?
Might be true, as super-hero stuff has been crowding out the box offices, and are generally catered to a wider, younger audience.
What in the fuck are these guys on about?
The 2020’s clip should have randomly added a diverse set of characters in the background to claim diversity. Or just a gay black guy in a wheelchair LOL
Oh, the “old good new bad” joke. Hah. Super funny.
