What I do is I just try to take my hat and I turn it around, and it’s like a switch that goes on. And when the switch goes on, I feel like another person, I feel, I don’t know, I feel like a truck. Like a machine.
After watching this movie, whenever we armwrestled at school, I’d try that thumb thing and get better leverage. Nevermind I was one of the smallest kids in class lol
This movie legit taught me arm wrestling technique. I was a scrawny kid that beat so many bigger kids in elementary for lunch money cause they didn’t watch cool movies like this lol
Stallone at this point could have made a movie about cross stitching and it would have been a hit, I mean a movie about arm wrestling is equally as boring!
Stallone always starts out the underdog. He gets the shit beaten out of him, then after he’s been broken to pieces, he rebuilds himself stronger and with greater will power and he wins.
I prefer the Schwarzenegger approach: He starts out insanely strong, smirks a bit, navigates some tricky stuff (without getting too worked up) and then dispatches the big baddie fairly easily.
My Grandpa knew Mad Dog Madison(Randy Raney), was friends with his brother. Funny enough the brother was an arm wrestling champ and always beat Randy when they’d matchup
Combining the emotion of a child custody battle with the drama of arm wrestling (miss you Norm!)
“Izz Lyka Zwitch”
Or John Grizzly drinking motor oil, followed by some alka-seltzer after his match.

“IM GONNA GO THEOUGH YOU LIKE OIL THROUGH A FUNNEL!?”
I fully believe that this movie subconsciously ushered in the backward hat trend of the late 80’s early 90”s.

I love this movie. Watch it at least 2 times a year and it never gets old.
Then the “bear” stare and love shoots out of your chest or someone shoots on you … idk.
If you need arm wrestling movie about a divorced dad ego drives a truck n trailer, we got you movie
Good God, I would like to know what scripts Stallone passed on that year
Nice soundtrack as well, Meet me Halfway and Winner takes it all. Not to mention it had its own toy line

Don’t forget about waiting for the right song to cue up. Abed taught me that.
Damn Chris rock never ages

“Mr. Cutler is talking to you.”
Ash Ketchum enters the chat…
This and Cobra are Stallone’s finest work.

Underrated. Classic 80s cheese

My favorite part of the movie is that arm wrestling is so popular that it is broadcast and shown in international airports.
I didn’t know Kevin Hart was in that movie.
I still quote this movie whenever a hat is turned around backwards.
Even then, at like 11 years old, I was like *they made a whole movie about professional arm wrestling?*
When I turn this hat around, it’s like a switch.
“Its like a switch”
For any kid from the 80’s, no hat is turned backwards without saying this.
Be honest – how many of you tried to drink motor oil like that dude in the movie? Not me, but John Grizzley was tough!
Haha – WTF would he drink motor oil, like it will add combustion power to his arm?!
The competitor drank motor oil before the match
I only saw this movie as a kid. And later for years I thought it was just a fever dream until I saw it on tv decades later
I drive trucks, break arms and arm wrestle. That’s what I do.
I love this movie❤️❤️😁
Meet me halfway. Across the sky.
dig this movie and the soundtrack. lot a lot of Stallone movies, the central theme is inspiring -> overcoming the odds to succeed.
This has to be one of the stupidest movies I thoroughly enjoyed start to finish and then rewatched. In a theater.
