Those puppets are from Spitting Image, which is one of the most frightening and funny shows I’ve ever seen. As a Californian born in the late 90s it made me care about UK political discourse from the 80s.
Problem is, they fucking failed… the whole point of the song is to make fun of the dinosaurs of the Era, Reagan, Thatcher, et. al. for being so old and out of touch with the modern world that “my Generation will get right”… but they left us a world even more fucked up.
