1956-ish in Wiesbaden. My sister, mom, and me as taken by my dad. Dad worked for DOD in electronic systems. This is a weird photo because we looked like displaced people in an area when there were still a lot of displaced people. It has a real film noir feeling to it.

You may be surprised to know that there is still a substantial US military presence in Wiesbaden. Most of what was probably there in the 50s is gone (or turned back over to the city), but the airfield and a few smaller kaserns are still occupied. It’s a beautiful city, Wiesbaden. Expensive, but beautiful.
